Admission Decision
English language qualifications

Admission Requirements:
Selecting candidates for admission into the YU EMBA is a very critical decision for the University. We believe that there is more to selecting a candidate than just considering standardized scores, GPA’s and other numerical performance indicators.
For this reason, admission decisions for the EMBA take into account three primary areas of evaluation:

  1. Professional Experience (length, breadth and depth of professional and managerial experience; and potential for career development and progression).
  2. Academic Qualifications (a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution or previous postgraduate level studies with a satisfactory level of achievement).
  3. Additional Relevant Criteria (Potential contribution to the overall quality of the learning environment of the program; maturity and motivation; ability and willingness to commit the required time and energy to the program; community service and professional activities; and support from an applicant's employing organization).

Furthermore, it should be noted that in admitting selected groups of high-potential managers from the same organization or industry (instead of individual applications), admission recommendations are based both on class composition and individual criteria. Class diversity in job function and industry classification is an objective.

Nevertheless, there are a number of standard admission requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution (does not have to be a business degree).
  • A minimum of three – five years of professional work experience.
  • Verified English language qualifications.
  • A competitive score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) will be required for prospective EMBA students who do not have the requisite years/type of work experience but who exhibit exemplary undergraduate academic preparation and possess otherwise exceptional talents.

  • Certified photocopy of English language qualification(s) – if any
The English language qualifications accepted by the YU EMBA Office of Admissions include the TOEFL or IELTS tests, or the internal YU English Language Assessment Test administered by Interlink. Candidates who have not acquired an English language qualification at the time of the submission of their application form are required to submit it prior to receiving formal admission into the program.
  • Work experience certification(s) OR Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), 500 is the minimum score.
  • One reference letter.
The reference letter can be submitted only on paper (in sealed envelopes, signed across the back) either attached to the application form by the applicant or via regular mail, posted directly by the recommender. • Current resume / CV
There is no required resume/CV format.
  • Certified statement of financial support.
If your studies will be sponsored by someone other than yourself, you should submit a guarantee of financial support from the sponsor. If you are self-supporting, you should submit proof of financial support for the amount of the tuition fees and for the living expenses during the program (bank statement).
  • Letter of employer support.
Applicants who are not self-employed must provide a letter from their current employer stating his/her agreement to allow the applicant to participate in the EMBA program in recognition of the time demands both of the coursework and related activities.  In the absence of this letter, YU will not be responsible of any professional difficulties that the student may encounter with applicant’s employer.
You can download and print an “Organization Sponsorship Statement" here or request a copy from the YU EMBA Admissions Office.
  • A Registration Fee of 700 SR
The Registration Fee is a one-time, non-refundable fee paid by all applicants which includes both the application and admission charges.
The Registration Fee is applied towards the administrative cost of processing all applications received, and for preserving the candidate’s application materials. The Registration Fee is non-refundable regardless of whether or not the applicant is successful in being admitted into the EMBA program, as well as in the event that the candidate withdraws the application..
